Hi. I saw reviews in Youtube that mentions the in-handle retention is insufficient. However, the video was uploaded in 2008. Is this still true to the current production Tenacious? Thanks.

well, i got my tenacious in feb. of this year, and the blade retention is just fine. just got a persistence, and it's just fine also.
later,

i really want to buy either the persistence or the tenacious. they're both basically the same price. i just don't know if the size would be too much on the tenacious. DWO, how do you feel about the size differences?

i had three that were purchased over this past year. All PE and all had NO problem with blade retention. I only have two now, since one of my sons "borrowed" one about a month ago. Haven't seen it since, but he's sure been braggin' about it! It's a great knife for it's intended purpose. It's simple and it performs -- not a lot of flash with the Tenacious. But I believe it's a very good value -- along the lines of the Ontario Rat 1 folder.

The retention on the one I got I think a year and a half ago, is very good. You can clearly feel the detent pop the blade closed, almost like the back spring on a slipjoint.
