I would like to know everyones thoughts on this knife. I recieved one as a birthday present. I really like this knife and was wondering if others feel the same way. I know it's made over seas but it still has great quality and reasonable steel to me. So tell me your thoughts and please let's not turn this into another china bashing thread, just your thoughts on this knife. Thanks TA

It's one of the best bang for your buck knives, IMHO. I love mine.

Its highly regarded around here, and on most folks' "best knife value" list. Its few detractors wish it had better steel and was not made in China, but I can get around both those for the price.

I think it's very hard to beat the Tenacious (and its cousins, the Ambitious, Persistence and Resilience) for value.

Best knife I have ever used that came out of China. In fact, I decided to just put away and collect my high end G-10 folders and use the Tenacious as an EDC.

I've bought 3 of them just to give to family and friends and kept one. Value excellent!!!

I gave a plain edge one to my oldest brother, another plain edge to my step brother and they both are very impressed with the knife. I use mine as my main work EDC and have another plain edge and a fully serrated spyder edge I keep in my cold weather Carhartt bibs. I have much more expensive knives but this just keeps finding it's way into daily use:thumbup:

Makes a great medium duty work knife. Good construction, surprisingly sturdy, and the steel is good enough for a work knife. It keeps a pretty good edge, but is very easy to touch up.

My one and only Spyderco, and it's a winner.

I have got it. And it does not see any pocket time for some reason. Do not know why really. Nothing wrong with it. Could it be because of the blade steel?
Sorry for not being really helpful.

Great knife, the first I ever bought. Its cheap but very well made so don't be afraid to use it hard.
It has become the beater knife in my collection that I know I can trust.
If you ever have second thoughts about using your more expensive knives, this will be the knife you go to. Well made and extremely affordable.
Tenacious gets two thumbs up from me!

I also love my Tenacious. It fits my hand perfectly and rides great in a pocket. I've thought about trading mine numerous times but I just can't let it go. It's a great knife and one of my favorite edc's next to my Endura.

Tenacious rocks. mine is in the garage inside a pear getting a nice food patina right now. will post pics to spydie forum later

I didn't know stainless would take a patina. Let us know how it goes and thanks guys for all the input. The more I use mine the more I like it.

Stainless doesn't "patina" like carbon steels and non stainless. 8cr13Mov does seem to rust fairly readily in the right conditions though. I suspect that when he pulls his knife out of the fruit there won't be much of a patina. If anything it will have a few superficial spots, and possibly some pitting.

I love my Tenacious, I find that Im carrying it more than my more expensive folders. I have also been impressed with how sharp of an edge that it will take and suprised that it holds an edge better than expected. Really good knife, cant recommend it enough.

Definitely a great knife, especially for the price. I've gifted a few, and the people I give it to never want to try another knife. Kinda sad, was trying to get them into blades, and they're so happy with the Tenacious they don't care to try another one.

The Tenacious always seems to return to my pocket despite having countless other knives. It's the perfect balance of durabilty and cost. It screams "use me". I find the blade is perfect for 99% of most utility tasks and it's good for a last-ditch defensive option as well. This coupled with an Victorinox Climber and a Gerber Clutch on my keyring prepare me for just about any EDC task.
