Spyderco to start producing more automatics?

The governor of Colorado just repealed the ban on automatic knives in the state of Colorado so could this mean we will see some more autos from Spyderco? Even though they are illegal where I live, that would still be cool to see what they come up with.

They already make them, sales are just restricted. Hard to know how the legislation may effect that, it at all.

True but will we start seeing automatic versions of our favorite knives like the Manix and the Paramilitary 2 for example? Maybe some OTFs? I'm sure it will be easier for them to produce on a much larger scale now

Gotcha, I was into Spydies for a while before I was aware of the autos, so I thought maybe you didn't know.

Yeah i do know they made some but maybe the laws were restricting them into producing more variety which is why they dont have many models of autos

I don't carry autos, but I'd still love to own a Spyderco auto. As long as they aren't pushing Microtech prices I'd be in for sure. There's no way I'd spend $400 on a high quality OTF and just have it sit around.

I think it would take a while for production to end up in Colorado. I'm just guessing but I would assume that it would be a great deal of work to start production. It will be cool to head to the factory and "play" with models I have been unable to scope out in the past due to silly laws. Looking forward to it!
Perhaps it will open up the door to new models in the next few years. But I would imagine it to be limited if it were to happen. Just my guess.

I suspect the big question is whether, and to what degree, the change in Colorado law impacts the restrictions placed on Spyderco by the Feds. If it has no impact on those, then there's no reason to think Spyderco will have any more incentive to make automatics than it has had in the past.

I have 2 autos from Spydie, and both are fantastic!!
I have a black Autonomy that is one of the fastest opening autos I have!! It's also a pocket chain saw!! Great knife!
Also have a green Embassy that is one of my favorite knives!
I love autos and would really like to see more from Spyderco.
