Anybody know what size Torx Bit is compatible with most Spydies? I have a set but only goes down to T10, a bit large for my Delica 4.

T6 IIRC I recently purchased a Wiha small bit set, not just for knives, they will run more but they are high quality hardened bits you can buy single drivers or a bit set. There are some other great brands but Wiha was the one I knew the most about and was most familiar with and was recommended by some professionals who use that brand of tools for their work. Many sets with the smaller bits are labels for electronics/technicians as computers and small electronics often use the smaller sizes.

Industry-wide, the typical sizes are T6 for frame screws, and either T6 or T8 for pivots.

Hmmmm - my mind must be going. I would have said T6 is the size for clip screws, T8 for body, and T10 for pivot.
Maybe I'm playing with the wrong knives....(or maybe the other people are)

That said - on your Delica, the body and clip screws are T6, and the pivot is a T8

^Agree you want all those sizes, and probably more, I forget which knife but the other day I ran across a T7, which is rare for me. Definitely a set that includes at least T5 to T10 is a good idea.

I got a 68 Piece Set as I said mine is a Technicians kit lots more than Torx bits in it but it has T1-T10 along with T15 and T20 the Wiha SKU is 75971 for my set.

Add in a 1.5 mm Allen wrench. That, a #1 Phillips, and T-6 and T-8 drivers are all you need to remove/re position the clip, Spyderco says in its catalogue (worth downloading or get them to mail you one).

I once ran across a screw that t5 was to small and t6 was to large for. I assumed the screws were made out of spec. But then I found a set of torx bits that included a T-5.5. It was a perfect fit.
Have any of you ever seen this size before? Before I found the 5.5, I modified a T-6 to fit, but it was not a great fit, it did mess up the screw a bit.

What item was using a T5.5 sized screw? Which this is the first I have heard of a T5.5 I don't think Wiha makes one I would have to go back to looking at their individual bits. I would suspect this T5.5 is a non-standardized size which would making it uncommon to find in use and uncommon to find the bit for it.

^Yes that's a legit thing, I actually have in addition to my Wiha set, a cheapo little set that has a T 5.5 size, it's labeled right on the bit, and I've actually used that size on a knife before. Your next question is gonna be which knife, and as with the T7 I mentioned above, sorry I don't recall, I have so many knives I don't remember the sizes of the screws on all of them. o_O

I should check my cheapo set for a 5.5 make sure to save it if not I need to find one I must have all of the sizes! :p
