I've found my ideal EDC knife: the Spyderco UK Urban slip-joint. With a closed length of 3-1/2", it doesn't need adjusting when I sit. Longer knives have to be pushed out of the way, and constantly remind me that they are there. The 2-9/16" leaf-shaped VG-10 blade is razor sharp. The checkered G-10 scales provide a good purchase, as does the jimping on the thumb ramp and choil. Because it is linerless, it weighs a scant 2.05 oz. The wire pocket clip is more than adequate, and getting it in and out of my pocket is a breeze. The slip-joint requires moderate effort to close, but I wouldn't use this knife to stab 4" of leather or plywood like the boys at Cold Steel. I guess if I have to battle zombies in the coat room of a biker bar or the lumber section of Home Depot, I'm SOL. For my purposes, this is a great knife.
