Spyderco Ultra Fine Benchstone polish issues

So I got my new ultra fine benchstone to do some mirror polishing. Unfortunately what seems to happen is that when I finish with the benchstone, held to the light you can see a mirror polish start but there's a bunch of unpolished portions and smudges that make an imperfect polish. How do I fix this?

It is hard to envision what you might be observing. Can you capture an image?

Is it possible that you have polished the bevel incompletely? and perhaps missed a few spots due to a little convex-ity of the bevel?

The UF benchstone is fine but not fine enough for a perfect mirror polish, you will need a finer abrasive yet to make it a mirror.
