Hi folks, a while back a friend from Down Under, Ken Orrah, known on the forums as harronek, good fellow he is too. Sent me this Spyderco Urban special with the K390 blade, wicked thin edge and excellent cutter, slip joint but with nice solid stops and control.

I've carried this since getting her, while not used everyday, she rides in my left back pocket every single day and would not be without, always good to know if a thin cutting blade is needed I have that one to reach for quickly and know she'll be sharp!!

here's a short video of her taken this morning, getting fall weather up here now, hence the scarecrow in the background my wife decorated our new small eating area ;)

Thanks again Ken !

The Urban is a great little knife from Spyderco, but so many are, aren't they? I watched the video and saw you going for the arm hair at the end. Maybe my memory is incorrect, but I'd swear you once posted that shaving your arm hair really annoys your better half. Hope she didn't notice. :)

Yes they do, so many to choose from!

And yes also to the wife not liking my shaving arm hair, but, that was because I had shaved my entire left arm completely bald, from shoulder to knuckles, nary a hair left, she didn't noticed until I happened to cross my arms and then it was really apparent that something was different with that left arm ! My promise, as I recall, was that I would not do 'that' again, not the entire arm at least.

And I always tell her that I do have a constitutional right to Bare arms ! :)

edited to add that the reason it was shaved bare was I had a LOT of knives in from folks at work for deer season that needed sharpening and so it took quite a toll of my hair along with them!

The Urban in K390 has become one of my absolute favorites. I mostly bought it to have a chance to play with the steel, but it hasn't left my pocket since it arrived (other than brief trips out to cut things ;) ).

Gary, I bought one of these when they were first released. It has become my favorite pocket knife. I took the clip off and just drop it in my pocket. The steel is probably my favorite non-stainless steel and it really holds an edge well. I know you are going to love that knife more as it ages.

" Super Cool " to hear you are still using the thing .
I know this will sound kind of over the top , but Gary is one of the " Good Guys " here on the forum .
This knife doesn't even go close to repaying what Gary has gifted and done for me .
News that he carries that knife everyday is music to my ears .
Long may it last .

Ken

You are too kind Ken!
