Ooooh... I just realized that the way that is phrased, it comes out to S.U.K.K. How about Spyder Kitchen Utility Knife... the S.K.U.K.? Hmmmm....

Well, let me say that this knife FAR from sux. I purchased one for my wife for Christmas, and she just used it for the first time about 10 minutes. Her accolades for the knife were much more abundant and articulate than what I am about to put here. But she summed it up when she said, "Finally, someone designed a knife for a particular use, and actually put some thought into it!" Needless to say, Sal, she is VERY pleased with the knife. And I paid every bit of ... um.... $24-ish dollars from knifecenter, including tax, shipping, and handling. Awesome Sal and Spyderco! I made big brownie points. Oh another statement I can remember: "I'd like to see all of our {other name brand kitchen knives} and buy more of these!"

Thanks you Sal.

Hi Rockspyder. Thanx for the kind words. It is a surprizing performer. Quite a few being used in restaurants. We'll be tesing a wooden handled version (ebony) in the spring. Basically the same MBS-26 blade with a few minor refinements.

The plan is to expand our kitchen line next year. More and better.

Rockspyder,

The kitchen knives have allways been a favorite of mine.
If your wife likes the utility, you might want to try the paring knife and the Santoku next.

Glad to hear that the kitchen line is getting some attention, I think that they are the best value in a kitchen knife bar none.

New kitchen knives.... cool! Thanks for the heads-up, Sal.

Bruceter, we have already talked about getting the Santoku. :)

I bought that same knife for my wife some time ago. At first, she didn't want to use it. But now it is a kitchen favorite. Definitely well thought out.

I also like the basic utility knife and we use it a lot. After a year or so though I have to say the one I reach for the most is the little paring knife. It's just good for so many things. I gave them as "additional gifts" this year at Christmas.
