I have a Lil' Sub-Hilt coming, and while I've read the review on its big brother HERE

I am wondering if those of you that have the Lil' Sub-Hilt could share your thoughts, or a review on your experience with it for a daily EDC, especially after owning it for a while.

There's no doubt it looks great, and I’m sure the quality is second to none. I just wanted to know if this is one of those knives where the smaller version is as good or better than the large, or if it's one of those models where they never should have made a small!

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I own a small but haven't had it over a week. It's a beatiful knife, well made and robust as hell. It is easy to carry but heavier than I prefer. Not sure if It is a long term keeper, but I do know that size and weight would rule a full size Hilt out for me.

A Lil Sub should be all you need if you like the weight.

I like the sub-hilt and lil sub-hilt. You can also get the Lil converted to double action.

I had one and it sure was pretty, but in the end the Lil' ergos just weren't very good for me. Add to that the weight and I just never used it. The original is the masterpiece IMO.

Hey Glock Guy, I have had the Lil for a bit over a month now. It was a little bit out of the ordinary for me to purchase the knife because I usually lean more towards "users" and the sub hilt seemed like it was going to be a bit more of a "art knife". Upon receiving the knife I was blown away. The craftsmanship is probably nicer than any Spyderco I have owned and easily on "custom" level. It is a beautiful knife and the action and lockup are perfect. All that said, I don't find myself carrying and using it very much. As others have mentioned, the knife is a little bit heavy. That doesn't really bother me but I do find the handle a little too wide for comfortable pocket carry and definitely too wide for IWB where I often carry my knives. The ergonomics of the handle are comfortable for my hand but there are many other Spyders in my inventory with superior ergonomics. At the end of the day it is an outstanding piece and if you enjoy beautiful and finely crafted knives then you will hard pressed to find a better example of those qualities at this price point. From a functionality standpoint is is a perfectly useful and capable knife but there are better "users" out there for less money.

The Lil' Vallotton is one of the few shrunken Spydercos that I like. I also like the Lil' Native.
I concur with the above that it's a functional showpiece. I admit that I have mostly just fondled mine but in the future it will definitely get pocket time.
I didn't click with the full size Vallotton. I think the handle is less chamfered and maybe thicker.
