Got my Vallotton today, and I must say its one amazing knife.Very beefy blade but with it hollow grind makes one heck of a slicer.Very comfortable in the hand.

The liner lock sticking out like it does had me worried, but its in no way uncomfortable even in the tightest grip. Also its thick enough and has enough tension that accidental dis-engagement is very unlikely.
Fit and finnish is what we've come to expect from Taiwan...Excellent.
I agree with most when I say that it could of done better with a flat black clip, or perhaps a custom one like the PPT.It just doesn't match the knife at all.

The thumb hole is very accesable and easy to use, as well as the thumb studs(blade stops).Either one can be used to open the blade very easily.

All in all another home run from Spyderco!!

Heres my vid on it( for what its worth)

That is one good-lookin' knife! Love that blade shape and deployment hole; very unique for Spyderco...

Thanks for the video!

good review, hey one question. Is the liner lock as thick as the one found on the Gayle Bradley? Is the lock up as solid?

Gayle Bradley is a little thicker but not by much. The lock-up on the V is way sold, I mean it snaps into place with much authority. This is definitely one of those knives you have to hold to really appreciate, its a very well built solid knife. My fave to date so far, next to the Fluted Millie.

Great review. I got mine today also and it is a sweet knife! I was fondling it while watching your review...that's not wrong...is it? Thanks again, glad you enjoy yours too.

Thanks for the video,I've been waiting for an on hands review of this one. Sure is a pretty knife, if only I could make up my mind to click on purchase now or not. ;)

Thank you for your time and efforts in making this review video for us!
Great job!
I just cant get over how beefy that blade is! How is the smooth G-10 as far as grip is concerned?
And I completely agree with you about the 4-way carry option!

Hi,
This knife is very much on My radar screen, definately a good looker. Thanks for the closer look at it, kind of reminicent of a Terzola blade. I'm waiting for a good price.
Why is it Your voice sounds so familiar? Great review!
Thanks,
Charlie

I was in the same boat earlier this morning. Then I said, "you only go through life once", and pushed the button! Should arrive tomorrow since I chose the Saturday Delivery option.

All righty then, I'll be looking for your thoughts on this beauty. :D

The G10 is definately not grippy, but the roundness of the scales and the steep thumb ramp coupled with the hilt make it Very secure in the hand.

Received mine today, wow. I love it. Very, very well made, superb fit and finish like all Spydies. Heavy, I like heavy. Seems like it will be super heavy duty if you choose to use that way. Yes the G-10 is super smooth, but boy is it pretty. I feel this will become a cult classic as time goes by. I highly recommend you press the button on this one.

Good job on the vid. I'm not much into folders these days, but I kinda dig the lines of this blade. Good job Spyderco, et al!

Got to handle it at Blade today and I'm pretty much sold. Feels awful good in the hand. Probably will have to order one this weekend.

Still think the hole on this one is not a plus to the lines of the knife.
Talked to Mr. Valloton about it and I think he kind of agreed, but the hole had to go someplace and lower on the blade would not have been a good option.
Its a minor point compared to the overall quality and feel of the knife.

Also got to spend several minutes talking with Sal...what a gentleman and a joy to talk knives with.

Sounds like a happy time at BLADE!:D Wasn't for me though.:( After paying, and being charged for Saturday Delivery, the package went out as a regular Overnight package, and this was after I communicated with the place and specifically asked if Saturday Delivery was available. So someone screwed up. I've already written asking for either a refund or a store credit for the additional moneis I spent for the Saturday Delivery.

But, I'm not going to worry about it as it will be here Monday and will be a rather nice way to start my week. Anyway, sometimes people just make a mistake and I've bought from this place before and always had great service, and possible UPS made the mistake.:grumpy: Will be back then to write up the initial observation report.:)
