Hey guys...just got the Vallotton...havent had a chance to really play with it yet but what I immediately noticed is how much the liner lock sticks up over the scales when the played is engaged. Whats up with that? Really effects the comfort on the grip. Im thinking this is the design. DoI have a defect? :(

I think you will get used to it. At least, I have. Besides, it is such a beautiful knife. One of the few that pictures and videos just don't do it justice. You have to actually have it in your hand to really appreciate. And, for those of us who like heavier knives .... this is a keeper.

I agree. It is a beautiful blade and Im sure I will get used to the liner it just felt really odd when I took a good grip on the knife. Odd construction though. I think they really could have contoured the top of that liner a bit without losing any rigidity in the liner. JMO But, like I said...still love it!

On the fence on this one - It is one I would like but the the protruding liner lock worries me - I suppose this is not meant for hard work anyway.

I just purchased a Vallotton two weeks ago and in all honesty the liner doesn't cause me any discomfort at all. It sits very nicely in the bend of my index finger and goes completely unnoticed in the grip.

I do find it just a bit aesthetically displeasing because it interrupts the lines, but it's not a deal breaker for me...it's a sexy knife.

? Did this knife have titanium bolsters early on in the production run? Currently they are listed as stainless steel, but I could swear I read titanium was the material used some months ago.

Any info? Thanks.

Fairly certain that the bolsters have been Stainless from day one of production. I don't recall if the prototype had Ti or not, but I don't believe so.
