Reprofiled my new ffg endura yesterday on a Norton india stone, and was really surprised how easy it is to reprofile and sharpen it.I was getting hair whittling edge on a factory edge touched up with sharpmaker, but this way it cuts even better at lower angle.Great edc knife made for slicing.

The Endura is an excellent slicer with its longer blade length, at 3 3/4" or somewhere close to that! Anyway, it makes a great food prep folder for the outdoors or anywhere! :)

I've always seen VG-10 as a decent steel and have good success reprofiling and maintaining the edge. Until I bought my Edge Pro.
I attacked my Centofante 3 right out of the box and used it as a learning blade on the new sharpener. It took what I thought was a good edge and transformed into something I never thought was possible. The VG-10 exceeds all the standard tests but the most fun was slicing through phone book paper. It makes no sound at all. I can't achieve this level with any other blades but it's a lot of fun trying. This VG-10 knife has become my touchstone when sharpening now. It's going to be tough to match.

I found a picture. :)

I love VG-10! Spyderco knows what's up! I'd rather have a steel that can get sharper than one that can hold an edge longer. VG-10 is no slouch when it comes to edge retention though, so it's great all-around!:)

Centofante3 is a real slicing monster, I have had one few years ago, but lost it somewhere, not just the steel, but thin blade and grind made it superb for my uses.

Spyderco vg 10 is very good, I put a convex edge on my caly 3.5... Nice

I own about 10 spyderco knives, and put convex grinds on few of them, all knives are excellent! Spyderco and Cold steel ARE MY favorite companies, also , will be buying
Benchmade 710;) CANT WAIT:)

Will try to get Centofante 3 and 4, thin blades rule above all! Also Spyderco Moran series of knives is excellent!

I picked up a Delica on a whim and was very impressed with the edge retention and ease of sharpening. Great steel, even if the super steel snobs turn their cheek to it.

That's the thing here. Just because some people want knives in super steels doesn't mean that they look down on steels with less wear resistance. It's often stated that way but it's usually not an either or thing for the steel junkies. It's usually the other way around. It's the people who prefer just the low alloy steels who profess and declare to never wanting any other kinds of steels. The steelheads or steel junkies will usually like steels that perform well(heat treat being the most common factor) whether they be low alloy, carbon, tool, or what have you.

Take me for instance, I like my K390 mule for the edge it takes and holds, that preference won't preclude me from liking my 52100 kitchen knives or my VG-10 Endura.

Haven't used VG10 yet, I got an Endura and a Salt 1 on my wishlist, just got a Manix 2 LW in BD1.

Let me say BD1 is impressive so far, I cut through an entire phone book with the factory edge.

I have a caly 3.5 on the way with VG10. I'm really excited to hold and carry it. It is my second Spydie in so many days. Yep in trouble with the boss already. She'll eventually get over it and I will be fondling my new Spydie in as soon as the mailman does his job

It seems to me, having experienced Spydercos in 3Cr, 8Cr, GIN-1, N690Co, VG10 and S30V, that the Glessers really know how to treat a steel. Maybe it's due to their mule team (which is an excellent concept BTW) or maybe due to their long time in the business but I never read of them messing up the heat treat on their products (unlike some other manufacturers). For me, this is more important than anything else as while I can put a new edge on a blade (my Spydercos have always had good edges) I lack the ability to do a heat treat.

I like the Glessers and their products, mostly due to the fact that they always deliver what they promise. Paragons of capitalism and model businessmen, IMO.
