Getting ready to pull the trigger on one of these and would appreciate impressions from any owners. TIA

John

I have had both the original and the Viele II. I prefer the newer one, lighter, not as thick. I had a hard time disengaging the lock on the original, and a hard time engaging the smaller spyder hole on both models. They are not lefty friendly at all, not a problem for me. I quit carrying my Viele II based on thickness and weight. I wear lighter clothing now and it feels bulky unless I am wearing jeans. The one thing in its favor is the build is nearly flawless on both of them. Looks great and built like a tank. Doubt you will regret it.

I bought two of them. For my father-in-law and myself. Both of us happy with knife. It is nice gent's knife, looks good and great workmanship, lock is solid.
I really prefer Kopa or Persian, but VieleII is much less expensive, you can get it for about $60.

I have the Viele II. It is extremely well built; very sharp out of the box and resharpens easily. I cannot compare it to the Viele I but I don't think that you'll be disappointed.

I agree with the others, that I like my KOPA's a little better but you will not go wrong with the Viele.
