Santa came and I have a bunch of new knives! It was a Spyderco Christmas this year. Got a Manix, Viele 2, Volpe, and a Lava. They are all cool knives, but I think the Volpe maybe my favorite. This knife feels great in the hand, is good sized, has a blade that looks like it will slice like mad with a sharp point, a solid feeling frame lock. The stainless steel and wood look nice together. It has an attractive stainless steel clip and I like the way the Spyderco logo is cut out of the handle. From my initial impressions I would highly recommend this knife.

Also the Manix is a beast and I'm looking forward to playing with that some more. The Lava has a different feel and look to it, but it seems to offer very good blade control and I can see it being a handy little knife. The Veiele 2 is alright, but it was my least favorite of the bunch, at least for now. :)

I got a Volpe last summer and it has become one of my favorite mid-sized carry knives. When I call it mid-sized, please remember what I consider to be large sized: the CUDA MAXX 5.5" and CUDA MAXX 7".

Nice haul of knives. The Volpe and Viele II are maybe the two smoothest folders I've ever handled from Spyderco.

Just wanted to say I'm starting to enjoy the Veile more. I hit it with a little Militec-1 and it's even smoother now. The pointy blade and smaller size makes it handy for opening things like CD's, DVD's, etc. I'm really enjoying Spdyerco lately. It seems they are coming out with more interesting designs lately, at least better looking. :)
