Spyderco Warranty and Repair--great experience!

Just wanted to share my positive experience:

Not too long ago, I wanted to tune up my Dice, as the flipping was somewhat gritty and not quite as smooth as I wanted it to be. Somehow I screwed it up, even after debating sending it in instead of voiding my warranty... But I'm stubborn and overestimate my abilities, and in messing with the knife I managed to strip the pivot screw, which resulted in an inability to tighten the pivot with resultant poor centering and blade play. I also lost the lanyard tube because this endeavor was comically bad on my part.

So I sent the knife in to Spyderco with the $20 + $5 fee for repairs after some communication via email with the warranty dept (which was extremely fast and informative). My Dice arrived today, two and a half weeks after Spyderco received it, and it is flawless. Pivot is smoother than ever, centering is great, new screws in place, lanyard tube replaced, and a new clip (sent mine in without the clip on)! oh, and it was sharpened, returning razor sharp with the primary bevel thinned out a bit.

Overall I was impressed with the repair and responsiveness of Spyderco's staff. From now on, I think I'll stick to using knives instead of breaking them. Thanks to Sal and the rest of the Spyderco crew!
