Spyderco warranty and rusty Q's

I have two of the Q models and had a question. They have rust in the cutouts where regular cleaning can't reach. If I send them to Spyderco, would it be possible to get them cleaned in between the cutouts?

I am guessing that this is asking too much from the warranty/service department but I figure I should inquire.

Assuming this is beyond Spyderco's service, what methods do you all suggest for getting rid of the rust in the little nooks and crannies?

BTW - as much as these are visually appealing, I'm glad they were discontinued: I don't feel like they reflect well on Spyderco's usual quality.

It would take you longer to box up & send it in than to do this:
Take a old or new if you want just not you current toothbrush :barf:
And then put some flitz, metalglo or any polishing paste and it will shine like a diamond in a few minutes. Rust is neglect and is not covered by warr. Just a thought. ;)

Spyderholic,

thanks for the help. I always use a toothbrush to get out the little grit on my folders but didn't think to use it with polishing paste. It has worked pretty well so I'm good for now.

Showing Spyderco's commitment to customers, Joyce sent me a email telling me to send the Q's in and they would do what they could to correct the problem. I will sit tight for now, however, due to Spyderholic's help.
