I've had very good service from spyderco previously - Sal had personally looked into my matter(s).

Recently, I sent a knife in to spyderco repair/warranty directly. I know Mike's been snowed under with work as he is the only guy in repairs/warranty now - I can emphatise, no worries there ;). I had dropped him a couple of emails but unfortunately I haven't received any reply on whether he received the knife, the problem, when it's coming back to me etc.

I know Spyderco received it on Dec 1 from the postal acknowledgement slip sent back to me.

Would like to know what's the usual turnaround time and whether there's any chance I'll get it back by year end. I appreciate it's the holiday season now and things do get slowed down a little...

It's just that I have been w/o my new folder for 5 weeks already (including 2 weeks during shipping from here to Golden) and I'm missing it :(

btw, is it snowing at Golden?

Thanks,

Even from Canada, their turnaround time is about 2 weeks in normal conditions (Christmas ain't normal BTW) not including the shipping.
Shipping for me seems to be 5 days while they ship to me takes about 3 or so.
USA turnaround time should be a bit faster. You can always try to find mike to see if he has look into it yet.

Might want to check his location again, chief.

Hate to say it, but I wouldn't expect it back by end of the year. I'd try to get ahold of them, figure out why it's taking so long. It's never been more than two weeks door to door for me, but I'm only half a dozen states away.

Hello,

Thanks everyone for your patience. Turn around time right now is at 4-6 weeks. We are experiencing an extraordinary large number of packages and Mike Hayes who runs the department is a one-man-show. The holidays are also a measurable factor. Thanks for hanging in there, we'll get your questions answered and packages back to you as quickly as we can. Happy holidays to you all.

Joyce @ Spyderco

Thanks Joyce for the status info. If I don't receive my knife back by end-January, then I'll call up.

If someone at spyderco can help pay for my flight to Golden, Colorado, and I'll help out with all the admin / emails / customer svc replies :D :) ! I'll even cook dinner for any overworked employee - lots of tasty far east dishes, italian pastas and slow cooked roasts at your option!;)

Crap, I didn't notice that he's in Singapore.
I still think in normal situations, turn around time isn't that bad, and it's the shipping that takes up most of the time.
Too bad that Mike is the only one who's running the show, and I contributed to the congestion by sending my Herbst and my friend's Mili....
