Well just got my Manix 2 CTS-XHP back from warranty service. I had the issue of 2 washers being on one side of the blade, and excessive blade play, not to mention offset blade.

I gotta tell ya the communication was very prompt and what i got back was a perfect knife. My main concern was the Lanyard tube would get all loose. What a difference! Solid blade all the way thru it's travel, tube is solidly in there and they say they touched up the blade for me. HOLY SMOKES!!! Sharp is not the word for it...

Just want to say thanks to Sal and the crew, other than dreading the thought of my knife being out there in the wild for a couple of weeks, it went very smooth!

Thank you for posting this follow-up. Spyderco is one of the most ethically and honorably managed companies I know of, so I'm not surprised, but it's always nice to hear.

Exactly like my Manix 2, I am sending it back. To bad I am living in Sweden (Shipping cost = High) What happend with the famous Colorado Q C???
It also had machine tool marks all over the liners.
I have seen a lot of poor Tenacious Persistence but this one is worse.:thumbdn:

Fredde, i would just make sure and communicate what your issues are with them. They made it right with me. I had no doubt they would, but i was disappointed at the issue. But things happen, and like i said the end result is a fantastic knife.

hmm i got 2 tenacious they are both perfect, spy warranty has helped me in the past plus they send you a letter thanking you........

Very poor and uneven grindings on the blade and what about the bronzephosphor "bushings"...paper thin junk. No I don´t like those knives at all. Take the knife apart an be "amazed"
Just my $0,02
First of all, Welcome to BF. This is great community with lots of knowledgeable people. I wouldn't start things off by bashing, that is just my $.02 - it will only lead to problems.

What exactly were you expecting for $25-$35? Most everyone on here that owns a Persistence/Tenacious have nothing but good thins to say about them. I gifted 4 of them last Christmas and they were all higher quality than I expected. Send your knife in and they will evaluate and correct the issue if indeed there is one to be had.

Remember, nothing is perfect. Even $1000 customs can be unevenly grinded, dull, cracked, scratched or otherwise not up to standards of perfection.
There is nothing wrong with the Golden QC that I have seen. Some folks do have unrealistic expectations when it comes to some things. I've sent in knives for sharpening and another for QC evaluatio. I received prompt and coourteous service throughout. ymmv

The "paper thin junk" washers have been used in the D4 and E4, among others, for years now. I don't recall seeing any reports of problems with them.

Thx... First ...I love Spyderco. I have proplems with the Persistence/Tenacious and I don`t see why i get " into problems" for that. If you have no issus with them fine...but this is my view/experience...
My Manix 2 was even worse, I have NO problems with my other 35 Spydercos.
Just my $ 0,02.

Fredde90210, it seems you just have had some bad luck with your knives. All my spydies are rock solid and good.

Great stuff huh?

Spyderco sent me two new knives; A ti military and Se spyderhawk.

Both of the ones I originally owned had problems that they couldn't fix, so they just sent new ones.

glad you had a good experience with them.
