I really like Spyderco Knives. I also really like the Spyderco catalog. I dislike the Spyderco website. Does anyone else agree?
Spyderco isn't alone as a lot of knife sites (both manufacturers and retail outlets) are poorly designed, visually unimpressive and difficult to navigate. Spyderco makes great knives, but it sure is hard to browse the website. The catalog in PDF is great. Large images and grouping by similar models. If instead of looking at the pdf, I chose to look through the catalog search, there is two clicks from the home page and you get 16 pages of knives in no discernible order. Blade hq does a good job if you select spyderco knives of listing all the models on the left of their browser. They have large photos as you scroll through options which is a step up over other websites who use small photos and a lot of text.
Kershaw has a good search function though it doesn't always present accurate results (select no speedsafe models and the cryo comes up), but the images are large and the page is easily scrollable.
Does anyone else think Spyderco could benefit from an upgraded web design?
