Spyderco Wegner....Plain or serrated?

I need a good all around folding camp knife. I really like the Spyderco Wegner (full size), but have heard mixed opinions on plain blade versus serrated blade. I'll be using the knife for various outdoor chores, plus maybe occasionally cleaning game.
I would appreciate your opinions/experiences on the subject before dropping the bucks.

Regards.........

Welcome to the forums! You are making a wise decision in the Wegner. It is one heck of a knife, probably my all-time favorite. I prefer plainedge, unless you plan on cutting a lot of rope. Plain edge is much more versatile. Check out Joe Talmadges plain vs. serrated FAQ in the tutorial section:

It offers a lot of info about the subject.

I get some use out of the partial serrations on mine, but if I had it all to do again, plain would be the way I'd go, especially if I had skinning to do.

My full size is plain edge, my junior is part serrated. I wish the Jr. was plain edge but it was all I could get at the time.

This (either) is a great knife. Good steel, sharpens well, excellent ergonomics. If you really think you need the serrations go for it. Otherwise, the plain edge is in my opinion the better knife.
