Picked up a Spyderco Wegner today in a trade, great little knife, almost 3" ATS34 blade, plain edge, says it was made in Japan. Looks like an FRN style handle. Which model number is this?

Also, it doesn't have a clip. Is it still possible to get a clip from Colorado? Three whole/screw clip design.

I uses the standard 3 hole clip,Spyderco should still have lot of them.IIRC they are about 5.00

I love the blade geometry on all of the Wegner models. It truly is a premium skinning and utility knife. I almost regret trading off the ones I had. Tim Wegner's succeeding company Blade-Tech also has some really high quality blades with virtually the same design.

The OCELOT which was also a Wegner design is a nice skinning knife as well but I wish that they would have done without those footprints :( .

It is truly a CLASSIC in the Spyderco line.

About 5 years ago I skinned and quartered 5 caribou with my Spyderco Wegner C48 without even a touch up. I have never used a better hunting knife.

I was so exited that I have been buying everything I could lay my hands on. There is a Wegner Jr out there that was discontinued fast and has eluded me.

Top two are the Spydie C48 (My Favourite) The Spydie Ocelot VG10... very nice the prints need to be water picked after use, and a bit inconvenient for a knife going hunting. Really great ergos however.
Three Blade Tech versions are below.... ( from top, the 440C mouse, the 440C Orange Light is a best buy and the S30V Pro Hunter a very good varient.)

The C48 up top is the best of the lot though. From the meaty thwack of opening to the absolutely perfect blade geometry. Fantastic.
