i tried searching and couldnt find anything really relating to this, but has anyone changed a wire clip and replaced it with a different clip? or know of anyone who makes, or does that? The wire clip is fine, but if there was someway to change or someone who makes clips I would be interested.

I asked this same question a week or two back and got the same response: zip. I hope you eventually have better response than I did, sticky.

I'm pretty sure someone out there has fabricated a solid clip to replace the wire clip in their Spyderco knife. It looks reasonably simple for someone skilled and knowledgeable in metal fabrication and there are beaucoup people who love to mod their knives.

It would involve either adding provision for more than a single screw, making a solid clip that would utilize the existing channels in the scales the wire clip uses, routing out the scale to nest the end of a solid clip in the same way the wire clip's end is nested in those channels, or perhaps silver solder an overlay on the wire clip to make it look solid. I'm sure none of those options are impossible, but I suspect none of them are as easy as fabricating a custom clip for models that use a 3 screw clip.

There are knife maker websites that offer flat pocket clips with no holes drilled in both Ti and carbon fiber. You can buy one of those and drill it out yourself.
That is the only option I can see...

My thought would be that a single screw could be used using the existing hole. The two slots could be used as a point for stabilizing the clip using a pair of ears bent from the clip body. Since a solid clip is...well, solid, it would have less side to side flex than the bent wire clip. The side flexing of the wire clip is my main dislike for that device.

Just throwing out an idea if anyone wants to give it a try.
