Interesting to find that the November 2013 issue of Knives Illustrated magazine labeled as the 2014 Buyers Guide has Spyderco with the most number of folders (4) than any other knife manufacturer in the 30 Top Tactical Knives:

  1. Double Bevel
  2. Ulize
  3. Szabo Black Blade
  4. Karahawk

Do you have a link to the article? I'm not very interested in tactical folders but I wouldn't mind reading an article about that selection of knives and its a little late to go out and buy the movenber issue.

No links to that issue since they want you to buy it. I know you can buy back issues or get it for your iPad.

Any news on the Spyderco Double Bevel C174GP? It's only listed in the 2013 Spyderco Mid-Year Catalog Supplement.

Spyderco Double Bevel C174GP
Widely acknowledged as the father of custom tactical folding knives, Bob Terzuola designed the Double Bevel to offer both the superior edge geometry of a full-flat grind and the strength of a hollow grind with full thickness spine.. Its VG-10 steel blade features a tanto-style point for strength and the sleek profile that characterizes Terzuola’s no-nonsense designs. The ergonomic handle’s textured G-10 scales provide a secure grip and are supported by skeletonized liners that also form the foundation of the knife’s sturdy Walker LinerLock™ mechanism. A 4-way clip supports immediate access.

For the "tactical" knives from Spyderco check out the 2014 Spyderco OpFocus Catalog.

OpFocus, short for “Operational Focus” is a term that we coined to accurately describe a view of our products from the perspective of the duty-bound armed professional, first responder, martial artist, or defense-minded civilian.

Do it Rolf, at least check it out. If you hate it you can sell it to someone for a minimal loss. ;)
