What do you think of the "Worker" as an everyday carry knife? I heard it is now being made with ATS55 instead of GIN Steel.
How does it compare to the new Calypso? Which one would you carry on a daily basis?

I have had both and like each in their own way. I guess the easiest question is, do you want serrations? If no, you know the CJ is your answer. IF yes, well, both knives come serrated.

I don't like stainless steel handles as a rule so I would lean to the handle and knife ergos of the CJ. I'm lucky though since I have a damascus Worker with rubber inlays in the SS handle and I like that knife very much (Thanks BOB!!)

As a everyday user I guess I would still lean towards the CJ.

I'm sure you will get more opinions on this.

The Worker was one of my earliest steel handled folders. I carried it for a few years while in the shop. It served me well and because of its rather pointy tip it excelled in delicate jobs, such as minor carving, splinter removal, toothpick (please use caution!), gasket seal removal, etc. The tip is somewhat delicate though, as I dropped it accidently on a decorative tree stump and that resulted in a bent tip. Some friction or skateboard tape did the trick for a secure hold but the old work pants pockets went pretty quick. Too bad though, there is no production plain edge model. My Worker has since been retired. Now where is that Worker 2000 LW plain edge!?

I would certainly buy a Worker 2000 (and a Lum Chinese folder of course). MDP whatever happened to that customized Delica/Worker 2000 that Sal's son was going to make for you?

Personally, I wouldn't mind if the worker went the way of the Dodo Bird. I carry it in stock because its a Spyderco, and I'm a Spyderco dealer, but it has to be the slowest moving, poorest selling, knife I have ever carried. Go ahead and put it out of our misery.
