I like it! Is the top of the blade sharpened or is it a false-edge?

Thanks,

Bobby

The top of the blade is a false edge. The only commercial knives I know of where the handle encloses the entire blade to allow a sharpened false edge are the Gerber-Applegates. They have a butter knife top edge, waiting for somebody to hone it. With the C56 and the Native and any other sensible pocket knife with a swedge, there is a flat surface on top of the blade, where you can comfortably put your finger.

Jim, thanks again for providing us with your pix'. I really like this Zowada and that' s only from what I see from the pix(Seldom do I say that). Any dimensions and material specs available? Hmmm... that scallop/ liner area seems a mite far from the pivot end. Think I' ll get one though.

L8r,
Nakano

PS- please say a plain edge is available.

If I remember correctly the handle is black Micarta, AUS-8 blade.

Thanks again Jim. I guess the picture at the Spyderco web was a prelim as it shows a plain edge. Sal??

From the position of the hole, it seems that the thumb will swing in a wide arc in the opening process. A problem with smaller handed users?

I really think the serrations screw with the lines of this knife. It makes the bottom edge asymmetrical with the top. Bad juju.

Other than that it's nice. I'd rather have a large native though.
