This is a spyderco knife I got recently for 20 bucks it is assisted open. What's your opinion?
 
Never, never, never. Spyderco sells a couple of autos, but ZERO assisted knives.
 
Taken... hoodwinked.....bushwacked..... yea, there is no such thing as an assisted opener from Spyderco otherwise I'd be able to recite the list of available options to you my friend. Sorry about your misfortune.
 
Spyderco has never and likely never will make an assisted knife. I can see why, but that is just the way it is. You, unfortunately, were bamboozled.
 
If you are referring to the thumbstud/hole as "assisted open" compared to a traditional nail nick then it might be a spydie. If it has an actual torsion bar/spring etc. that actually assists the blade then you have indeed been hoodwinked.:highly_amused:
