I recently called Spyderco to get a pocket clip replacement. So after I explained which one I needed, the person on the other end then said that I would have to pay for it. Ummmm, what? How come every other knife company I do business with never charges for replacement parts unless it’s a specific part that they need to have you send the knife into them?

What the Hell Spyderco! Do better. I hung up on the guy. Benchmade never charges for replacement parts. Screws, pocket clips, back spacers, thumb studs etc…..

Awwwww, I was kind of hoping for support. But I guess that’s not going to happen. (Doesn’t care)

Spyderco sucks. Charging for replacement parts which cost upwards of what, 50 cents? Maybe a buck or 2? I call BS
 
Note that comparable knife models also cost considerably more from Benchmade than Spyderco. Are you really getting their replacement parts for free? Or are you buying the knife twice, up front?
 
I got one one time to help out a pal in Canada..it wasnt real pricey..dont remember but didnt make me flinch...

now shipping to Canada in a priority box was super expensive....never make that mistake again....
 
In my personal experience, Spyderco will never really send out parts no matter if it’s a pocket clip or screw. They want you to send in the knife for warranty and then they will replace the damaged parts.

Other companies like Benchmade, Kershaw, ZT and many other brands will send out certain parts but everything has to go through each brands own warranty process. And it also depends on the severity of the issue that the knife has. Pocket clips and screws are generally what will be shipped out. And whether you have to pay for shipping or not can depend on the company or who you may end up talking to from the brands warranty department.

This would also be a great time to upgrade! A whole bunch of great companies are out there that make titanium pocket clips for a variety of brands of knives, including Spyderco.

Benchmade has always shipped replacement parts for free. Not charge for them like spyderco or shitderco as I call them now

Because companies should back up their products and take care of their customers. That’s why. It’s a friggin pocket clip. I’m not asking for a new Para 3, only a pocket clip from a multi-million dollar company that can’t even send a replacement pocket clip for free? Seriously?

Benchmade is also a multi-million dollar company and YET, can send replacement parts for free
 
I really dont remember what they charged me when I needed one but I didn't get upset like the Irishman. I don't think its unreasonable to charge for a nice clip. A free benchmade penis clip is not a great score.
