What is a samller version of the para 2? I REALLY like this knife but it is a hair big for an Edc. Thanks. BILL

I don't think there really is a smaller compression lock version of the Para 2. For what it's worth, I feel the same. I think we'll just have to wait for the future Sage model that sports a comp lock.

Caly 3.5 is similar sized, but thinner and a bit lower profile. If you still want smaller, look at the Caly 3 or the Sage 1, 2, or 3. The Calys and the 3 Sages represent 4 different locks. Ergonomics are all practically identical.

You can always get the blade ground down. I'm sure there are plenty of tinkerers on this forum that would give you a good price.

I have the tenacious. It is about the same size. I have a persistence that is a little smaller and good for an edc but not the quality of the para. I do have a sage 1 coming. May be the ticket. BILL

The first paramilitary has a smaller blade. The handle I don't know about, but the blade is definitely smaller.

Many dealers still have them.

Yup, the original para is the way to go for those who like smaller blades. Personally I don't get why the para 2 is bigger, they had that one part right the first time.

You mean the benchmade mini dejavoo I think.

haha, bit funny given the thread title.
Hhahaha. Your right it is a Benchmade. Brain fart.
I prefer Spyderco over Benchmade but the mini Dejavoo is one of my favorite Bencmades.
If I were you I would look at the Sage1,2,3 and the caly 3.5(my next Spyderco I think)

I'd LOVE a Sage with black G10 and a compression lock. I dream about that knife every night (hypothetically speaking).

That said, I still have yet to get my Para 2, so I'm unsure about it's size. I'll EDC it either way, but still drool over the thought of a comp. lock Sage.

My first thought when reading your message was - Sage 1. Looks like you are on the right tack.

You might also look at the Stretch 2. It isn't a whole lot shorter than the Para2, but with the FRN handle, it carries much more easily. (the CF version is nice, too!) And it is one of Spydercos best overall knives. It is my personal favorite.
