Sorry the knife pic is not a more flattering or shiny version of this knife but I use this knife everyday. It's not around for show (I got others for that function :))

This is one knife that is on many list of favorite EDCs on the web. After reading many favorable reviews about it plus the numerous videos on the tube, I was just itching happened to buy one too. I wanted an EDC knife that I would actually use day to day. I do have a ZT-0801 with me but then I could not bring myself to cut oranges / cardboard and other things, I just did not want to scratch the beautiful shiny metal surface and the heft of the knife too meant that prolonged use lends to fatigue, so I went out and got myself a paramilitary 2 after reading many recommendations on it's great compression locking mechanism and it's ergonomics.

Let me be upfront about this. This was not an instant winner or favorite with me. I just could not get used to compression lock with a one hand operation. They say among all of your knives the one that cuts you first is the one that owns you, well I guess if that is true then Paramilitary 2 is the one that owned me. Practicing closing and opening one day the blade accidentally "kissed" my hand and blood gushed all around the place. Testament to it's sharpness. Anyway, after healing my hand and loosening up the knife using lubes and loosening the pivot screws slightly I could finally handle the knife better and boy do I love it after that. This knife has certainly warmed up to me.

The ergonomics and sharpness of this knife is second to none and the weight itself just screams to be your EDC. The clip is great too and the paint on it seems to be more durable than ZT or Benchmade's painted variety. The other thing that I love about this knife is how "warm" the G10 feels in the hand and after using it exclusively for my EDC for about a month I still do not detect any hotspots during prolonged usage. Because of it's weight this baby will just ride quietly in your pocket without bring much notice to itself. I had to change the orientation of the clip from carrying the knife tip down to tip up though but that is just a small thing as it did allow me to do that easily. Even after getting used to handling the knife, I would not really say this is the knife that I would fool around opening and closing on a couch watching TV. It's just not that kind of knife. With it's low profile black look and light weight it however screams "workhorse" all over, and it seems to be happiest performing the roughest toughest cutting job in your hand. If you are looking for an everyday workhorse knife, I can think of no other.

I love this knife and the understated look the knife itself. It's understated look belies the makings of a hell of a great cutter and daily carry.

P/S Below is the finger which was kissed which has since healed up nicely.

In my view, the PM2 is small enough to be a good EDC choice, but also big and fast enough to alter someone's behavior. Combine that with its quick deployment, blade shape with fine tip and lots of belly, and excellent hand feel, and you have a winner. The PM2 shortage over the last year has just added to the feeding frenzy. I would like to see a deep carry folder-over clip as an option, like the one that Mr. Theoriginalspaceman on BF makes, but those of us who like deep clips can add one.

The PM2 is certainly one of my favorite folders. I did collect them for some time, but sold them off as they just sat at home in a box. I'm really not a collector, but I do enjoy good quality. I love the compression lock; it's a natural one-hander and I truly enjoy it.
I'm a real casual user, so I don't feel as though I need to carry the finest super-steel. Even the S30V in the basic PM2 is a fine blade-steel for me to carry.

What do you carry now out of curiosity ?
