So to my knowledge the only knives Spyderco has produced are the Mule Team knife with 3v and the Tuff. Anyone think we will see this steel in any other models? I absolutely love M4, and based on the information ive gathered i think i would enjoy the characteristic of 3v. But i cant see myself carrying and using the models rhat do have it.

Dunno how similar 3V and 4V are, but I like the 4v mule a lot. From what I gather, spyderco likes to save the non-stainless for sprints. Wouldnt mind a G-10 Delica with 3V!

I was thinking along the lines of a Bradley Folder in 3v with silver glass fiber scales lol

I would rather see some fixed blade options in 3V and 4V than folders. To me, the properties of these two steels are wasted on a folder which is light or medium duty. A fixed blade can wring the full potential out of these hard working steels, I think.

When I see D2, 154cm, vg10, s30v and such with edges badly damaged, but the rest of the knife unscathed and functioning like new, I'm all for more robust folder steels.

There's only a few folders that tick all the boxes for me, but only available in steels that get easily damaged.

Got me a sweet SK23 by Smock Knives with a Spyderco licensed compression lock in 3V.

Agreed. I'd love to see something the shape of a Rocksalt, or their Bushcraft in 3V.

I agree. I mean i never hope to that to my knives but i want that affed security and performance. Ive gotten into the overbuolt folder thing since owning a Gayle Bradley. I know other companies do the overbuilt thing but none with the ergos and performance ive gotten from my Spydies. Would really like to see some more tank like knives come out

The Gayle Bradley is a very well built knife that should last a life time even with rigorous everyday use. I consider the M4 blade better than 3v and 4v, at least for my uses. Unfortunately, the ergos on the big one is a little off, and blade a 1/2" too long for my liking. For a one knife option, I must be able to choke up on the blade with index finger to the tip, and at least 2 fingers under the handle for support.

I assume youre talking about the GB2, and yes i wont even consider it just because the ergos look so off to me. I really want something in 3v, and have considered trying to find a Tuff. Just not sure hoe i will feel about the ergos

3v is my favorite steel as of now. Its strength and ease of taking and keeping a edge are fantastic. I work in Hvac and use mine for damn near everything I have come up on to cut. Other than s110v ( great steel just a bitch to sharpen) or m4 ( to much maintenance for my needs) 3v's toughness is top notch. I hope Spyderco comes out with more folders in this steel but I understand the appeal for a fixed blade.
As for the Tuff, man that imo is one of the most under rated knives I've seen since I've been collecting knives. It's ergos are completely natural, it cuts damn near anything and has such a stout blade that it can take major abuse.
If you happen to find one for a reasonable price, good luck with that, grab it, you won't be disappointed if you need a strong folder..
Here's mine

I've always thought that the larger models that are suited as working knives should come in the standard steel of course, but also should be available as production models in a tough steel for use as a working knife and in a steel such as S110V for users that want a steel that holds an edge for a long time. I don't know which would work better for the average person- 3V, 4V or Cruwear. I've heard a lot good about 3V and Cruwear though. I like my knives that are in M4 but on paper it's not as impressive as it is in real use. If 3V is better then I'm all for that.
