I want to send in a knife to be sharpened so I can sell it with a nice edge. I'd like to know if they can do anything to buff out light scratches on the blade as well. I'm asking here because I called them three times on three different days and it went to voice mail each time. I emailed customer service and never got a reply. Not sure what's up with the company. Maybe I shouldn't send my knife into what seems like a black hole.

Anyone know anything about their sharpening service and what all they do? I see they offer repairs for $20 but I wouldn't consider this to be a repair.

That is an interesting hapening with their customer service. Did you fill out the form on their website? I had a question about a knife and used the form and received a reply via email within 2 hours. Maybe you were emailing and calling the wrong place/ number?

I've only called them one time,it was about a month ago and I had no problem at all.

Remember they're in a different time zone as well. I'm not saying that you made that mistake, but I have before. So far if I check the time before calling they're always picked up.

Happened to me in the past as well.

Rather than spending the money to have the factory do it,if you were to invest in a Sharpmaker with the optional rods it would be easy to do at home. You could get the light scratches out with a Dremel buffing tip and a little semi chrome.Just a suggestion.Good Luck.

The sharpening service is great. I have used it two or three times. I have enough Spydies that I can send three of four in at a time and make it worthwhile. Don't know about the buffing.

I already have a Sharpmaker and know how to sharpen. I'm just hoping that they clean up the edge because it came from them a bit lopsided (ZDP 189 CJ), which isn't something I can do. Besides, I finally heard back from them and they said they would buff it for no charge as well. Sounds like it is worth the $5.

Thanks for the responses.

Very much worth the $5, I have only had wonderful experiences with their customer service. The edges come back in wonderful shape, and handle/repair service is also very very good, and reasonable in my opinion.
