You Gotta love those little spyders in the damascus on the bolsters. Uncharacteristically, though, no pocket clip.

Nice photo. I think is the handle is a very fitting design, and the Eggerling bolsters are great!

The simple Delica blade seems a little out of place here. Maybe a satin-rubbed finish would have been more appropriate.

If I have a million bucks I'll get a dozen of those ;)

Hey,
I'm really not liking the whole "spyderco" symbol... I told my boyfriend it looks like a tick but he disagrees.....if yall think it looks like a tick, someone tell me!!

ticks have 6 legs

...but you should make a new post to see what everybody thinks!

btw, welcome to bladeforums

i was referring to the shape of the body. I didn't bother to count the legs, but yes, you do have a very interesting point.

As far as I know, ticks do have eight legs, as they are related to spiders. And yes, I agree that the Spyderco symbol looks like a tick. A cute tick, though. :)

Larry,

The Anniversary Delica will be available in very small quantities perhaps as early as this month. The Collector club units have started shipping, obviously, since you're seeing my Collector club knife. Perhaps someone from Spyderco has more definitive information. Take care.

I believe that just the first 150 or so came in and went out to the collectors. The entire edition is of 500 and the remainder should either be at Spyderco, or is expected sometime this month.

Nice pic Fred. Thanx much.

The mosaic damascus was made by Ed Schempp of Euphrata, Washington. Very beautiful and difficult work. He is a master bladesmith. He's also the guy that has won the Eugene rope cutting competition for 3 years running. His 10" knife cut through (one pass) 8 one inch hemp ropes bound together. Awesome knifemaker.

Hi Kate. Welcome to the Spyderco forum. Glad you chose here to learn enough to teach your boyfriend. The folks around here can probably provide that info. They are a very astute group.

Regarding our "Rocky Mountain Tick" looking Spyder logo. When we first started making our one hand Clipits in the early '80's, some were intimidated by our knives. Some of our models like the Police and the Civilian are a bit "scary" in appearance, so we needed a "cute" logo to offset and diminish the potential "scary" aspect of our knives. The current logo was developed back then to serve that need. It sort of says, "if you know the logo, then you know the knives, and you understand". Kind of like "understatement" of the real force behind our products.

hope that helps.

O MY GOD !!!!!!!!!!

(picks jaw up from the floor).

............. <- (me lost for words).

I can't imagine how long damascus that precise took to forge, mind boggeling

hmmm... what does a tick looking logo have to do with knives? :D

just a trigger thought

welcome aboard kate

All I know is that the damascus is powdered metal damascus, and it takes a lot of skill to get it to show up that well.
Even now, all I could say is, Damn!

Fred,
Great photo!
That's one fine looking knife. I would love to have one of them in my collection.

To think of all the work that went onto that, wow!

I wonder if we will see more of this style from Spyderco?

BTW: I also sent you a email about the photo.

Very nice.
Maybe I will have my own someday :)

Thanks for your help.
