Hi,
Been lurking forever, registered a while back, finally had something useful to post.
Thought you folks might like to know about this deal over on SMKW
http://eknifeworks.com/webapp/eCommerce/index.html
Don't know whether it's a mistake (hope not, I like Smoky Mountain and want them to stay in business forever), but they have Spyderco's Ayoob folder (in the SpyderEdge) listed for $49.99 (part number SPC60S).
Since the plain edge is running $127.99 on SMKW, and since the next lowest price I found on the serrated version knife was twice SMKW's, I snapped one up. As usual, Smoky Mountain got it to me in half the time they said they would, along with the bargain Pumas that I couldn't resist buying as future gifts.
I agree with the comments on this knife that others have posted before: takes some getting used to the intriguing blade angle, typical Spyderco quality, slippery scales. As a lefty, I appreciate the ambidexterity (assuming that's a word) they engineered in. Think I'll be very happy with it for EDC.
Anyway, if any of y'all have any interest in picking up a Ayoob lockback with a SpyderEdge, now seems like a pretty good time.
cheers, erich
