Spyderedged EDCs? Your Favorite? And Why?

There has been a lot of talk on many of the Forums in the past 3 to 4 months on what makes an ideal folder, or even fixed blade for that matter to carry as your main EDC. Most people use plain edged blades as their main EDC folders but I'm hearing more and more that some of you are opting to use a Spyderedged folder for your main EDC. I have at least 4 great Serrated Spyderco folders that I roate and use as EDC folders when I particularly need to do a lot of work with a serrated blade. One Spyderco serrated folder I've been using this past week is one of my older ATS-55 STainless handled RESCUE models. It's truly a pitbull of a folder and built like a Sherman Tank. Most of the time I carry a Spyderco SE Hawkbill blade as a companion folder for my main EDC which at this time is my G-10 Ayoob model>> the serrated Hawkbill folder I carry most of the time is a serrated Harpy or Spyderhawk.

I want to know how many of you all use a Spyderedged Spyderco model as your main EDC folder ( or fixed blade)? Or do you mostly use a Spyderedged folder as a companion EDC the majority of the time? If so which is your favorite and why? If you use a Spyderedged fixed blade like I do occasionally tell us which one of those models do you use.

OK let's chat about Spyderedged EDC folders

My favorite so far is the native5 in serrated, I like the thin ffg blade combined with the serrated edge. My previous favorite was the caly jr serrated, but the native cuts better. I also like the manbug in serrated for a key chain size knife.

Very interesting!!! Because I've had an old 440V Spyderedged Native for some time and it's virtually indestructible IMO. I've used it on some pretty mean jobs and it endures all of them  I want one of those Native 5 SE models bad>> it's on the top 5 of my "want list" at this time and I'll have one before the summer's over I'm sure. I've heard nothing but good about the Native 5.

I'm so glad you mentioned the serrated Caly Jr because I also had one of the stainless handled Caly Jr models with a Spyderedged blade and it was a mean little SE blade for sure. My favorite out of the Calypso line up was the original C-54 Calypso model in SE. In VG-10 that SE version C-54 Calypso ( the big micarta model) is one of Spyderco's very best IMO.

But you're about the 5th person who has told me how good that Spyderedged version of the Native 5 is. There is something special about those Golden CO USA made Spyders in SE that are hard to beat. I sure wish they would do the Military models in full SE again.

My favorite is the partially serrated ffg Stretch.
My new favorite will be the Stretch 2 in the same configuration. ;)

Yeah I'm hearing a lot of good about that Spyderedged version of the STRETCH model here lately and it's funny you would make note of the "full flat grind" blade because I believe that it one reason the Calypso models in full SE do so well.

I haven't owned or used a STRETCH model in quite some time but I'm hearing that the Spyderedged version really stands out performance-wise.

Love this little guy! Serrated H1 = no cares in the world.

Unfortunately I had 3, gave 2 away, then lost one on a drunken gator ride in a swamp somewhere.
Now I can't find any at a reasonable price.
I think I paid less than 80 bucks each for those 3. Worth every penny...unless you lose them. :(

When I'm in the tropics or the Caribbean I carry a Salt 1 SE. Hard to beat serrated H1 for performance, plus it's so lightweight, I barely notice when it's on me. Easy to replace if it ever goes missing and takes lots of abuse between sharpenings, so I don't need to bring sharpening stuff. I've had my eye on a N5 lightweight in serrated as well. I have the PE N5 and it's been great. It should be awesome with those partial serrations, and it looks great in black.

i use and carry my native 4 with 3/4 serrated edge alot, although its my only serrated knife these days!that my change soon,my love has always been with PE spyderco's.

Wow 10 posts and not a mention of the PM2! Well I'll be the first. The PM2 is my most often carried spyderco. It's a plain old S30V with Casey Lynch AL scales. Just an all round great knife that seems to do everything I need it to. Easy to put a extremely sharp edge on it which can't say for all the super steels and it's just the right size for me. If I'm wearing pants or shorts and I usually am, there's about a 70% chance there's a PM2 in my right front pocket.

Pacific Salt is my go-to SE EDC. I generally carry plain edge, but that knife flexes into such a variety of roles and I find the serrations add to the versatility in my collection. It honestly gets the most carry when weight matters as it's a hell of a lot of blade in a 3oz package

H1 Dragonfly... Wasn't a fan of the yellow, so it got the burnt orange handle, while the Hap blade went on my G10..

And a smaller belt loop, for a more concealed carry, at my back belt loop.

Cuz maybe there are no PM2's with a fully-serrated Spyderedge? ;)

I tried EDC'ing SE Delicas and Natives but they didn't prove as useful as their PE siblings.

But I do have SE Dragonfly, Delicas, Tasman Hawk, and Spyderhawk in my toolbox and fishing tackke box.

My EDC for the last 1 1/2 years.

Has been in my pocket every single day since it entered the rotation.

I am in love with it!

I always carry a backup plain edge, though, like the one on my SAK or multitool. But nothing beats the brutal, pure cutting power of serrated H1!

MY EDC is a non serrated Military in CPM M-4. It just feels natural, holds an edge and is fairly east to sharpen

For a fixed blade, I carry a Mule Team in K390.

Oh yes there was an older Spyderedged Paramilitary model at one time. I think they went extinct back around 06 or 07 or thereabout  Not exactly sure of the disco date of the PARA but like the T-Rex they did at one time grace the main line up. They also had a fully serrated Military model as well and I miss it dearly. A lot of the guys have been lobbying to have it brought back in Spyderedge and I hope they get that accomplished because I'm personally wanting to see the C-36 Military come back with teeth as well

And I can appreciate those of you who don't use Spyderedged blades for EDCs>> because everyone's cutting needs are different to be sure. But I do urge all of you who have never at least tried to use one of the Spyderedged models as a companion blade to carry >> You ought to give it a try because you might be surprised at what you're missing.
