I just picked up a blue smallfly and I can't put it down. Why aren't these more popular? The blade shape is nice, it really tears through cardboard and other stuff (push cutting with that deep belly is super easy) and is comfortable to grip. Is it just the balisong legal issues that hold people back on these?

I would imagine it is the legal issue for most people and for carrying all the time it's probably pretty intimidating to some people. Some rubes get all upset over people carrying a small folder let alone a Bali

I love my old VG-10 Spyderfly. Although I have not really carried it since I bought my Benchmade 51.

Whether for legal reasons, or simply because they're "different", balisongs are not the most popular knives and even some of the folks who like balisongs don't care for the non-traditional handles on the SpyderFly and SmallFly.
