I got my spyderhawk back from W&R about a week or two ago.

when i first got it, it was extremely dull so i sent it in for sharpening. A month later i got my knife back even worse. The edge looked like it had been done by a guy with parkinsons. I tried sharpening on the sharpmaker with no luck. Then the paper wheels with no luck. I even tried sandpaper on the sharpmaker stones with again, no luck. Is it the h1 steel or the knife itself? My tasman salt is rediculously sharp but is Se. I know h1 work hardens but at this point i figure it shouldve hardened enough already. This is silly. help meh!

Sounds like you either got a bad sharpening job or a bum blade. I had a PE Pacific Salt and had no problem getting it sharp. Try emailing Spyderco and asking to trade it in for a new one.

Did you send it in for sharpening at Spyderco? I find it very hard to believe that they would send it back to you more dull than it was before.

My Salt 1 loses an edge faster than I would like but it sharpens up very nicely. That said, I've found that it is actually work-hardening. The blade is keeping its edge longer than before. I've been using the Sharpmaker with no problems.

If you are really frustrated then I would recommend calling Spyderco and discussing it in a CALM and COLLECTED fashion. They are there to help you but sometimes bad things happen. I'm sure they will do their best to fix it.

Yes, I did send it in to Spyderco for sharpening and unbelieveably, it was actually duller(is that a word? :D) I'm sending Charlynn an email right now and will call her tomorrow. This is the only knife I've had this kind of problem with. Do you think they actually would trade me for a better one? If so I'd just ask for an SE model so I don't need to deal with this.

The one that we got at the shop I work at was stupid sharp. I find that H1 takes a really nice edge with a lot of "bite" to it. Sounds like a crummy sharpening job or a bad blade. Definitely send it in.

I just sent her an email. Hopefully she'll trade me a new one. I know from my tasman salt that h1 will get very sharp. Something is definitely wrong with this spyderhawk.
