Considering the limited interest in the original Spyderhawk, it's almost a miracle the H-1 version got made at all. I'd imagine yellow was either the preferred color among the Spyderco Forumites who lobbied for it, or Spyderco's best guess as to what would be most popular. That said, am sure if there is sufficient interest in the model, a black handled version may appear some time in the future.

Sal gave us our choice of yellow or yellow. 
When he announced that it was going to be made, he said only 600 pieces, serrated and plain, which I construed to mean Sprint Run (which I had suggested on the factory forum), but he has since said it will be produced as long as there is interest, so if the yellows sell well, black is a possibility as well. I've got two of each ordered already.
