Hey, im a big SOG fan but was thinking about getting a spyderco Spyderhawk. I like the design and materials, but cant figure out weather the get the straight or serrated versions. Which would you get and for what reasons? Any imput would be appreciated.
What are you going to be cutting? If it is alot of rope, plastic package binding or real neat designs spreading butter on bread then the Spyderedge is the way to go. Alot of what most of us do is done better with a plain edge. If you go Spyderedge get a Sharpmaker or similar. It will make sharpening much easier on the serrated edge.

Spyderhawk didn't really meet what I wanted in an EDC(use an Endura II for that), but if you're looking for it for self defense, as well as regular use, think about the serrated edge. Had SE spyderhawk for a week or so due to a passaround, and all you had to do was look at that thing and knew it'd scare most sheeple away if you had to draw it in self defense. I ride my bike around the city here after 10 generally, at least during the summer, as even then it still tends to be 90 degrees or more(been 75 or so last few nights though, just perfect). Anyways, being night, and on my own, wanted a knife with me, but Endura II was a bit heavy for sweat shorts I wear. Spyderhawk came in beautifully for this, with the synthetic handle it was still light, but was definitely more than big and mean enough for SD, and still a useful knife(carried it aroun dfor a little while). Wasn't my style, but if it fits you, I'd say SE if you want it primarily for defense, or cut lots of fibrous stuff(as already said) or PE for other uses.
