Bought my first Spyderco an Endura 20 years ago, used it, thrashed it and ( stupidly) even threw it. Retired it to the cupboard years ago and never broke the original, integral FRN clip. Although screw in metal clips may be more durable and look classier on the higher end Spyderco's. I think the integral clip should be reintroduced to the cheaper FRN models. I know there was supposed to be complaints with early clips snapping off but what were they doing to manage this? Playing with "Noss" and his mates? Anyway just a random thought, any opinions? P.S Love Spyderco's and own at least a dozen.

Yep I've still got my original Endura I bought years ago and it still has the intergral clip. Great knife, but its been retired now.

I think the problem is that it would limit carry to only one position. You'd have to make two lines just to support lefties and righties. And once you factor in how polarizing opinions are on tip-up or tip-down carry, the whole thing just becomes too expensive. Unless spyderco does a commemorative reissue, I wouldn't look for an integral clip any time soon.

There was also the problem that if you snagged the clip and broke it, you were stuck with a clip-less knife. I owned some of the integrated clip spydies and I much prefer a removeable/replaceable clip.

I found the retention to be a little on the loose side of my gen1 delica. Which has scared me into just keeping it in pocket vs using the clip. The wire and standard clip have much better retention IMO and I'd like to stick with that. Plus I'm a lefty so if they re-introduce the integrated clip, I wouldn't be able to enjoy the bigger knives very comfortably.

Integral clip? No thank you. I'd love to see more wire clips on future models though...

I do like the fine splinter-picker tips on the older gen Delica/Enduras...
