Well...... It took a little getting used to, but I love my new Military. I had the opportunity to do a whole lot of spring cleaning around the house today. There were a million boxes to cut up, blister packs to hack through, all sorts of cutting tasks. That CPM 440V is positively viscious to anything it comes in contact with!!! Wow!!! I never knew that a knife could perform that well!!!

I was scared to death of the Military when I first got it. It's a lot more knife than I'm used to, but it shone through in a big way today. That Spydie hole really comes in handy too. My only complaint is the outrageously ugly G10 handle. It works great; nice and grippy. But boy is it hideous looking!!!

So I want another big Spydie. Something in a lockback. Not that the Military isn't awesome, but I'd like to get away from the liner lock. I'd also like something minus the G10, preferring Micarta, but still using the wicked CPM 440V blade. Does such a Spydie exist?

I did a bit of online browsing, and found two Spydie styles I love. The first is the full sized Dyad. Sometimes I want serrations, but sometimes I don't. I get the best of both worlds this way. Too bad it doesn't have the 440V. I would have jumped at it in a heartbeat.

The second was a micarta handled Goddard done in Gin-1. I can live with the Gin-1 and the ratio of serration vs. plain edge is perfect. I even like the handle shape. But who sells one? Is it discontinued? And if so, what wing-nut discontinued it?

Come on Spyderco!!! Let's see that awesome knife that I can't live without. Make a full Dyad in 440V. Or at least bring back that Goddard I saw. Heck, I'd settle for a 50/50 edged Remote Release done in 440V and Micarta.

Make the Spydie that gives me the best of all worlds...... and with a cord ripper built in. I want it all!!!

i work at a knife retailer and though i cant speak for the full size dyad, i can say that while the design is great, when you grip the mini dyad with just one blade open like you normally would, the thumb ramp of the closed blade makes it really uncomfortable to hold... it was kind of a bummer
