Going to do a blade swap with a Dragonfly H1 blade ( my girlfriends knife as she likes the yellow FRN handles but steels not a concern ) with another Dragonfly blade and was wondering if the Salt series hardware is any different from the regular hardware in terms of corrosion resistance?
Its going to see lots of water and sweat clipped to my shorts for kayaking, boating, fishing, swimming, tubing, hiking, and just general summer shorts wear.

Also just curious if you guys could put H1 steel into a handle choice for the Dragonfly what would it be ???

Not running a lanyard on it so was thinking orange just for visibility in case she plunges into the water.

I second the orange. I've thought about trying to dye mine orange. That could be another option for you since the difference on price in negligible

It's possible that Spyderco uses the same hardware on the regular Dragonfly and the Dragonfly Salt, but it's very possible that they don't. The safest thing to do would be to swap just the plastic parts, as Rycen suggested.

Wouldn't it be easier to buy another yellow Salt and dye the handle orange?

She retains a relatively maintenance-free knife and neither of you void your warranties.

Here's a YT vid where they do a sweet fade dye ...

I was under the impression that all the hardware for the salt knives are treated in some way to make them corrosion resistant like the blade.

Completely forgot about a simple bit of dye to the mix. Seen a bunch of dyed two tone FRN handles and I like the looks.
If that's the case going to try a Spydie edge H1 dragonfly. I hear they are mean cutters and the steel is run a bit harder then the plain edge H1

I thought I read earlier today that the hardware is different on the Salt series, maybe it was in the catalog. As mentioned above it would be easiest to swap the scales if that's the case.

I mean, I doubt they use a high-carbon, rust magnet steel for the hardware anyway. I think you'll be fine, I doubt it'll rust if it's different.
