I really like the big 9/16 hole in the para 2, and now when I pick up an endura or tenatious the hole feels too small. would it be possible to drill a larger hole in them or will the drill bit just dull due to the hardness of the steel? Has anybody tried this. is there a reason that the holes are only 1/2" rather than 9/16?

I've done it before with a dremel and sanding wheels. I would avoid drilling.

I was fixing up a Native III because I rounded the edge too much for good grip. Tape up the blade well so you don't accidentally scratch something, be cautious with heat build up and go slow.

Take it to a machinist or call up Spyderco and ask if they'll do it for you.
It'll be worth the money most likely.
Don't drill it, you're asking for a turdpile of trouble.
