Hi everyone,

I'm looking to make a purchase on a large folder (my last for a while) and am considering either of the 3.
My criteria this time is just that it should be a pure left hander, and it wont see allot of use but a fair amount of carry.

I'm South African so i tend towards the CRK but i look forward to hearing your ideas and impressions on the following 3 knifes.

Thanks.

I think that considering the price, the left hand Military would be the better value.

As I understand it for the time being the Lefty Military is a 400 piece run with potential for more if demand is there. So availability may be an issue in the future.

I love my Lefty Military but if money was no issue I'd get a Umnumzaan!

If the Umnum comes in lefty, I'd go for that. Otherwise I'd go with the Sebenza if money isn't an issue.

listen and learn my friend...

i got a LH Millie a week ago. my first LH liner lock.

wow! that knife put liner locks into a whole new light for this southpaw and in a flurry of entheusasim i figured that frame locks must be just as nice if not better...so two days later i ordered a LH Sebbie  :D

get what i'm sayin? ;)

As a lefty myself, I have to say I only buy ambidextrous user knives, with a couple of exceptions, those being LH large and small sebbies which I haven't carried or used in quite awhile. In fact, I know I own them, but I'm uncertain of there whereabouts. The reason, I only buy ambi users is quite simple, if I want to sell it, I can. Without difficulty. Our left handed club, unfortunately knocks out 90% of the resale market, so if you ever plan on selling the knife, you're caught with the very short end of the stick. Most of the time, I'm not worried about closing the knife easily, as I am about opening it. Certainly, doing it the way the rest of the population does, is alot easier, but as you well know, lefties, have learned to adapt. The only thing I care about on a handgun is ambi safeties, the rest, I can work with.

Now, why do I have lefty large and small sebbies? Because I was able to get them....cheap! Why was I able to get them cheap? There is a low demand for left handed only knives.

Since I own enough "user knives" to equip 3 companies of troops with folders, and can't recall where I placed my two sebbies, my advice would be to re-evaluate YOUR knife needs, and look at what is available in the market. Sure if you can "steal" a large LH sebbie, that's been "previously loved" by alll means do so. The Benchmade axis locks are excellent "everybody friendly" and won't kill the bank account, same can be said for a number of Kershaw and SOG knives as well.

That being said, if you're set on a CRK, I would probably go with a standard Umnuzaan, because it will hold most of it's value and it's easy to sell.

Back to the knife, if it will be "much carried and little used" why a bigger knife? If it's for personal defense, I can see that, fortunately here in the U.S., we're still allowed the "1 finger karate", at least for now....

if you want a LH-specific knife that will not loose value, simply buy used (if you can find one, that is ;) )

in terms of holding value, have you seen what a LH Strider SnG sells for? ...and they sell fast!

the fact that we're only 10% of the market means that those LH knives that are made tend to be of a higher than average quality and hence, they hold their value better than more-inexpensive knives.

IMHO: CRK are good but they're always available for now. Left hand millie is limited edition and I am very sure if you don't buy that, now that youäve considered it, you will regret it later.

You can buy now left hand millie and later sebbie / umnum.

That was my thought as well.

Very good point! As a leftie, I'd definitely buy the Millie in a heartbeat.
