Holy crap, what a beast.

Just rcvd mine from 1sks tonite and I have to say, it rocks ! Smooth action & very sharp, right out of the box. Bigger and a bit heavier than I thought, but love it the same.

2 questions:

1. What size torx drivers do I need to strip it down ?

2. On the side of he blade that shows Golden, Colorado, there is a little squiggley kind of arrow, alomost looks like a "E" , depends on which way you hold the blade, what is that mark ??

congrats on what i believe is one of the all-time best folders to hit the market, regardless of price.

1) wiha screwdriver, phillips, #534 -- torx t-6 for the scale screws, & a torx t-8 for the pivot.

2) it's designer, eric glasser, owner sal's son.

Just a small correction from Garlic's post: Glesser is the correct spelling of the last name. :p

He is indeed the son of the owner Sal. He's designed a few Spyderco knives: Scorpius, Dodo, Manix off the top of my head.

If you guys keep saying nice things about Manix, I'm going to be compelled to get one.

I'm planning on stripping down my collection.. I've chosen the Manix as my Colorado EDC (blade has to be under 3.5)

Anyone have a pic comparing an AFCK to a Manix? Is the Manix any worse for EDC than an AFCK? Thanks :D

Do it Boink. I suffered and stewed for weeks till I bit the bullet and bought it. Everyone raves about the knife.

You might need to use a bit of heat as the screws seem to have red loctite in the threads.

any blade play?
nope. no flaws in F/F either. i'm tellin ya, this knife is the best value i've come across in my decades of being a knife groupie :p

if you want a large EDC that you'll love to put to work without your wallet feeling every nick & scratch, this baby is it.

As I said in another thread a week or so ago (after owning almost a dozen
different Spydies), the Manix is the most exciting knife I've ever owned. Still feel that way.

Yeah, it's a little big for the office environment I'm in, but a SAK or slip joint is always in the other pocket for the office. Other than that, it's the Manix :)
