So I have four spydies in my sights which will be added to my horde within the year. But at the moment I can only afford two, so i split them into two groups.

group1- ss se harpy, and a pe frn d4

vs

group2- cf chaparral, and purple ladybug/squeak. havent decided yet. lock vs no lock, clip vs no clip, vg10 vs that Italian steel ive never heard of

Im leaning towards group one mainly because the harpy just looks wicked and ive been drooling over how a full se vg10 hawkbill will cut. I imagine its like having a talon that also functions as a chainsaw haha.

what do ya'll think

Group 2, simply because the Chaparrel is a really great knife. Granted, the Harpy looks wicked, but beyond that it's of limited usefulness unless you cut a lot of rope, netting, etc. If you do, then stick with Group 1.

I'd go with Group 2 as well. The Chaparral is a great EDC knife and looks very nice. I've heard that a lot of people like the Italian steel of the Squeak and it is legal pretty much everywhere in the U.S.

You might want to mix and match. Pick up a Chaparral and a Harpy so you can experience two very different blade designs.

is the squeaks steel more or less corrosive that vg-10. im just using that as a mile marker since most people have some exp with it.

so the chaparral is something special huh? haha well i didnt really need too much of a reason to buy some more carbon fiber. im hooked on the stuff.

I'm a big fan of the harpy style but personally I see it as a fishing/beach knife and would get an h1. Be warned if you are planning to edc or use at your job they are VERY sheeple scary even in bright safety handles people see them as dangerous weapon throat slicers
