I hope everyone here's seen the thread over in general titled <a href="http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=207746">Knife saved this guy's life</a>.

For the newspaper account, click <a href="http://204.228.236.37/Search/Story.asp?ID=3354">here</a>.

Seems to me that the guy who was having his head smashed in warded of the attacker, the Spyderco Police was the particularly effective tool he used. I think after having the presence of mind to defend himself with a knife after suffering heavy blows to the head he should be given some credit, the knife didn't magically fly out of his pocket and save his life. A brave man with a great knife.

Ok, I see your quibble - that the knife didn't magically defend the guy. Point taken. The point of my post, however, was simply to alert folks here to an interesting story that involved a Spyderco knife.

I don't doubt your intentions. It just bothers me sometimes when i see a post that says 'knife does..' or 'knife saves..' when actually the knife would be of little use without a clear-minded individual holding it. ;)

I reckon they're putting a more accurate spin on the story over at Clear-MindedIndividualForums.com.

It would be a little sad if knives were our only interest around here. I think we're allowed to talk about people as well, after all, that's what we are.
