I just went to walk my dogs and the door blew shut and locked behind us. I had nothing but my rescue with me, no cell phone, no $, and no keys. It is like 95 degrees outside so waiting for my girlfriend to come home from work would have sucked. I live on the second floor so no way to get in the windows. So I start looking around and find a poland spring water bottle that had been flattened by a car. Perfect, I whip out the Spydie and cut a flat square of plastic from the bottle and use it like a credit card to Jimmy my door. Five minutes later I'm inside with the A.C. writing this thread. Thanks Spyderco and thanks to who ever threw their water bottle out the window. I'm just glad it wasn't the dead bolt.

Yeah, will22, what's your address?

You'd better get a door lock that can't be jimmied open... Or deadbolt when you're *really* leaving the house :)

I always lock the deadbolt when I leave. The deadbolt can't be locked without a key so I can't get locked out by the deadbolt.
