Spydie Rookie

I purchased a NIB Spyderco Rookie SS/PE over the weekend at a gun/knife show. Before I make it one of my EDCs I wanted to know if these are at all rare or have the potential to be in the future. Also, what year were they discontinued?

According to my research(96-02 books, no 99 though),

discon'ed for the 01 lineup

I believe the PE models were rare to begin with. Just like the C52, they have thier following, and I say use them.
