Spydie Southard with Rough lock

Hello everyone, I have a Spyderco Southard, the all black one. I won it in a raffle and I love it. The issue is this: the framelock, where the lock meets the blade and on the blade, where it meets the framelock is rough. It looks almost like sandpaper. It is extremely hard, so it isn't debris, and I was curious if anyone knew what this was. I have quite a few framelocks and have never seen this before.

The lock up is extremely tight, and it functions great, it is just bugging me. This is second hand, so I highly doubt this is an issue that was present from the factory

Sounds like it's probably been carbidized by a previous owner. Does it look like Barman's chokwe in this thead?

Just like that! Thanks a lot. It's worn off where the lock actually contacts the blade, but it seems like this is the answer. Should this be something to worry about at all?
