I'm fairly new to buying Spyderco knives after being a Benchmade snob for years and one of the main things that got me looking at Spydies was the fact some of their blades are in my favorite steel, CTS-XHP. I bought a Chaparral in XHP and a Manix XL but I'd like a larger edc knife, something near the XL size but in XHP steel. What are my options? I'd rather not spend big bucks on a sprint of some sort but if I like it I'll find one. Also, has anyone heard of a future design, I guess prototype, that will be offered in this steel?

Thanks!

Iirc most xhp blades are in the medium size range. I believe there were sprints in the pm2 Manix 2 and Military. Those may be your best routes

Your best bet, or at least a good one, would be to look for a Military in XHP. Nice knives, steel, and very capable.

There was para2 CS exclusive with XHP and Orange scales.
Hungarian folder with 3.6" XHP blade. Foundry has 3.25" XHP blade. SLYSZ BOWIE has 3.4" XHP blade. All three are current production and available everywhere

Bowie or Hungarian. Domino is big enough for me, but not pushing Manix XL at all. I love me some XHP too! The Bowie is unreal in terms of refinement. You could probably grab a lightly used Hungarian for a decent price here. You won't want pay for the orange PM2 and the brown Military may be a bit high too.

Right now the only Spyder I have in XHP is my Sprint C-36 Military model. I'm impressed with the bladesteel myself. I actually like it just a bit better than VG-10 which has been my favorite everyday usage steel for a few years now. I don't know yet how it holds up to corrosion and other harsh factors but I've heard good about it and Spyderco is doing other models in that steel so I"m convinced it's probably here to stay for a while.

I would love to have a Spyderedged Native with XHP>> something in my gut tells me that XHP would be a great steel for Spyderedges.
